Sponsored recommendations

Some of the products we recommend — including in our roundups — are sponsored or commercial placements, and we label them as such where they appear (for example, “sponsored link”). We only feature a product this way when it also earned its place in our testing. A sponsored placement never moves a product up a ranking it didn’t earn on performance.

What this does not change

• Our star ratings reflect how a product actually performed in testing.
• We disclose sponsorship rather than hide it.
• A paid link never moves a product up a ranking it didn’t earn.
